Fluorine-Lined Gate Valve

Fluorine-Lined Gate Valve

Basic Definition: A fluoropolymer-lined gate valve is a forced-seal shut-off valve in which the inner surfaces of the valve body, cover, disc, and seat—all in contact with the medium—are entirely lined with a layer of fluoroplastic (PTFE/FEP/PFA/TFM, etc.). Its core structure combines metal load-bearing with fluoroplastic corrosion protection.

Core Structure:
• Valve Body/Cover: Carbon steel/stainless steel shell, lined with fluoroplastic
• Valve Disc/Seat: Fully fluoropolymer-lined, flat/conical seal, axially moving
• Valve Stem: Rising stem or rising/rotating stem, with packing seal
• Actuation: Manual, worm gear, pneumatic, electric

Product Description

Main Performance Parameters

• Nominal Pressure: PN6~PN25

• Nominal Diameter: DN15~DN300

• Operating Temperature: -50℃~+150℃ (depending on lining material)

• Sealing Class: Class VI (zero leakage)

• Applicable Media: Strong acids, strong alkalis, strong oxidants, organic solvents, halogens, hydrofluoric acid, aqua regia, and almost all other highly corrosive media

Structural Forms

1. Straight-through type (J41): Most commonly used, higher flow resistance, easy installation

2. Direct-flow type (J45): Straight flow path, minimal flow resistance, suitable for high flow rates

3. Angle type (J44): Inlet and outlet at 90°, suitable for pipe corner installation

Core Advantages

• Superior Corrosion Resistance: Fluoroplastics are chemically inert, resistant to media with a full range of pH (0~14)

• Reliable Sealing: Forced sealing, leak-free even at low/negative pressure, suitable for toxic and harmful media

• Simple Structure: Easy to manufacture/maintain, short opening and closing stroke

• Anti-backflow: Valve disc closure effectively prevents media backflow.

• High cost-effectiveness: Metal shell + fluoropolymer lining, much cheaper than solid alloy valves.

Applicable conditions:

• Chemical industry: Sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, liquid alkali, hydrofluoric acid, organic solvent transportation

• Pharmaceutical/food industry: Highly corrosive, clean, and sterile conditions

• Environmental protection: Desulfurization, denitrification, wastewater treatment

• Metallurgy/electroplating: Pickling, etching, electroplating solution pipelines

• Petroleum: Sulfur-containing and chlorine-containing corrosive media

3. Y-type direct-flow welded gate valve: Smooth flow path, lower flow resistance, reducing media resistance and scouring losses.

Gate Valve

Gate Valve

Working Principle: The medium flows in from below the valve seat, passes through the throttling gap between the valve disc and the valve seat, and flows out from the outlet. The valve disc stroke is controlled by the rise and fall of the valve stem, changing the flow cross-sectional area to achieve both shut-off and throttling. When closed, the axial pressure of the valve stem presses against the sealing surface to achieve a tight seal.

Structural Features:
1. Unidirectional Flow: Medium enters from a lower position and exits from a higher position; cannot be installed in reverse, requiring directional control during installation.

2. Good Sealing Performance: Plane/conical surface seal, tight closure, low leakage.

3. Excellent Throttling Performance: Controllable stroke, suitable for small-amplitude pressure and flow adjustment.

4. Relatively High Flow Resistance: S-shaped flow path in the pipeline, resistance coefficient higher than gate valves and ball valves.

5. Short opening and closing stroke, simple structure, convenient maintenance and replacement of parts.

Main Parameters

• Nominal Pressure: PN10~PN40

• Nominal Diameter: DN50~DN1200, with significant advantages for large diameters

• Operating Temperature: -20℃~+200℃, adaptable to high and low temperature conditions depending on the sealing material

• Connection Method: Flange, Wafer, Double Flange, strong installation adaptability

• Sealing Form: Rubber soft seal, metal hard seal, tight seal, sensitive opening and closing

Structural Forms

1. Wafer Butterfly Check Valve: Lightweight and low cost, installed between two flanges, occupying little space.

2. Double-Disc Butterfly Check Valve: Symmetrical structure with double valve plates, smooth opening and closing, low water hammer, suitable for high flow pipelines.

3. Single-Disc Butterfly Check Valve: Simple structure, good flow performance, suitable for conventional water supply and drainage, and industrial pipelines.

Fluorine-Lined Gate Valve

Fluorine-Lined Gate Valve

Working Principle:
The valve stem drives the gate to rise and fall vertically, controlling the flow of the pipeline; the medium only contacts the fluoroplastic lining layer and does not directly contact the metal valve body, completely isolating it from acid and alkali corrosion; it allows bidirectional flow without flow direction restriction, and is only used for switching off, not for throttling or regulating.
